Jurassic World Evolution Game Review

Build your own dinosaur park chock full with spikey and downright dangerous prehistoric dino’s, sign me up! I jumped at the chance to purchase this game from Humble because who doesn’t love dinosaurs?

Story

Jurassic World Evolution is a business simulation video game developed and published by Frontier Developments.

Take charge of operations on the infamous islands of the Muertes archipelago and bring the dinosaurs to life. Build for Science, Entertainment or Security interests in an uncertain world where life always finds a way.

Bioengineer dinosaurs that think, feel and react intelligently to the world around them. Play with life itself to give your dinosaurs unique behaviors, traits and appearances, then contain and profit from them to fund your global search for lost dinosaur DNA.

Graphics

The graphics in Jurassic World Evolution are absolutely beautiful but at first glance you may not notice. Your first trek starts into island Isla Nublar from a top-down 3rd person perspective. While beautiful from this view, only zooming in and using the camera can really do this game justice.

The level of detail on the dinosaurs themselves it utterly astounding. Then you must factor in the scenery, water, bushes and even buildings and tourists to truly get a scope of the graphical masterpiece that is before your eyes. It is astonishing and beautiful. At times I actually felt like I was there, breathing in the same space as these magnificent animals, viewing them in real life for the first time.

Gameplay

Sounds / Music

Perfection! Honestly the sounds and music brought me way back to a time when I watched the very first Jurassic Park movie as a kid, the iconic theme song, roaring T-rex and all.

There are quite a few species of dinosaurs within Jurassic World Evolution. Each species has unique sounds and movements. It is very intriguing to listen to the sounds of your park, from a subtle musical score to the mighty T-Rex roaring in the distance.

I feel the sounds are highly realistic and it provides for an amazingly accurate experience.

Time To Learn

If you have played any other business simulation games then the time to learn is very short. The game is fairly straight-forward but there are some inconsistencies that may throw you for a loop, the challenge system to name one.

Throughout Jurassic World Evolution there are numerous challenges that you can choose to achieve, pay close attention because this is how you unlock new islands and progress through the game.

Would I recommend?

Overall this is a very entertaining simulation game. The graphics, sounds and game play are spot on and really makes for a highly immersive Jurassic World experience for all ages.

The length of the game is very long and you should expect to invest 30-50 hours to fully finish all the content. With that being said… it is an absolute treat every moment of the play through.

Frontier Developments is actively developing additional content and expansions that I for one cannot wait to get my hands on. This is one of the best simulation game experiences I have had in a long time. Could not recommend more!
