MSI Nvidia RTX 2060 GAMING 6G – Graphics Card Review

PC game deal - MSI Rtx 2060 Gaming 6G

Affordable, fast and with excellent dual-fan cooling and ray tracing at just $369 (Amazon at time of review). The MSI RTX 2060 Gaming 6G graphics card is a complete monster at a fraction of the price compared to older GTX series cards . See a direct comparison at UserBenchmark between to RTX 2060 and the GTX 1070.

I was fortunate enough to be able to install, run benchmarks and even play some Red Dead Redemption 2 on this card for a friends computer build. To my surprise the GFXBench benchmark tests show that the RTX 2060 in DirectX 12 is on the same level as the infamous GTX 1080! Below are some frame ratesĀ  that were seen during bench marking and in game play.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – 40-70 fps on ultra graphics
  • 7 Days To DieĀ  – 60+ fps on max settings
  • Torchlight 2 – 150+ fps – Max Settings
  • The Witcher 3 – 70-100 fps on ultra settings
  • Skyrim (modded) – 60-90 fps on ultra

Overall, I would be a complete idiot to not recommend this card. Sure, some may say the ray tracing is a joke and that this card is not strong enough to run in 1440p 144hz with ray tracing enabled. But the sheer fact that a $369 GPU is bench marking up there with the likes of the GTX 1070 / 1080 is evidence enough that this is a solid budget card for any build. If you want some more performance you can always step up to the RTX 2070S or RTX 2080S, albeit at a much higher price tag ($500+ & $700+).
